Winter Wonder Walk by Asheville Plays!

Immersive Live Action Storybook & Winter Festival

Treat yourself and your family to this seasonal event that captures the magic and wonder of the winter season like no other! Only at the Winter Wonder Walk by Asheville Plays! can you immerse yourself in outdoor live-action theater, shop from local makers, climb a ropes course amongst thousands of glow lights, throw snowballs at silly Snow Sprites, and sip a steaming cup of hot cocoa (with or without alcohol).

You literally step inside the storybook and are transported into the magical world of Winterland. The story comes to life as you walk through a live-action outdoor trail complete with live characters, twinkling lights, and Asheville’s largest snowball fight. It is a wonderfully immersive experience, great for families, and those young at heart who love winter season and all its magic.

Along with the storybook walk, there is a cozy winter festival under a heated tent. Families can play elf games and create crafts, enjoy a holiday market filled with locally made unique gifts, and grab a snack and tasty beverage. Drink options include hot chocolate and adult drinks. Outside the tent there are small bonfires for roasting s’mores and a nightly food truck if you want to make a full evening of winter adventure.

$1 from every adult beverage purchased goes to support Camp Lakey Gap and their unique summer camp program designed for people with ASD. Asheville Plays! has raised over $6,500 for Camp Lakey Gap in the past 3 years with the Haunted Trail and The Winter Wonder Walk and has helped create Asheville’s Family Adventure Fest as an annual fundraiser.
