New Belgium Brewing
New Belgium Brewing (NBB) celebrates 10 years in West Asheville in 2026. The company itself is celebrating 35 years of brewing excellence. Known initially for Fat Tire, its signature easy-drinking classic ale, beer lovers often search out NBB for their extensive sour offerings and Voodoo Ranger line.
The New Belgium Brewing Liquid Center site is located next to the French Broad River and boasts an extensive outdoor deck area overlooking the river and a large lawn with seating groups dispersed throughout. Food trucks are on location daily – see their website for schedule.
NBB hosts a series of events throughout the year, many free to attend, such as their Movies on the Lawn summer series, Friday evening live music, and the not-to-be-missed Tour de Fat Festival. See their website for details.

Did NBB flood in September 2024 when Western North Carolina was hit by Hurricane Helene?
Yes, the brewing facility ended up with over 4 feet of water throughout the facility destroying equipment and requiring extensive clean up/renovations. The Liquid Center was out of the flood zone and was able to reopen fairly quickly, but the brewing production area of NBB took months to come back online.
