Phase Two: Eating out ‘On Haywood’ Style

Your favorite gathering spots are reopening, including Westville Pub, featured below.

As pandemic restrictions loosen in North Carolina, restaurants are now able to open to dining again–but with restrictions. Notable are the needs to keep six feet social distancing between dining parties, and the further limitation of 50% capacity.

This is a challenge for our restaurants, but not nothing is impossible! Here are a just a few notables working to creatively offer dining options for our local West Asheville community. For more, don’t forget to check out the On Haywood Directory.

To protect business employees, Buncombe and Asheville are mandating masks for all people (older than 12) in most indoor public spaces during Phase 2, however removing them to eat while dining in a restaurant is an exception.

Need a mask? Check out our local Asheville Masks of Love which donate one for every purchase!

Zia Taqueria

Check out Zia’s facebook video post to get the down low and to ask any questions.
New things can be fun!

In addition to curbside, and their popular food truck (currently offering breakfast), Zia Taqueria is offering their own version of tailgate dining!

They’ve set aside designated parking spaces and will bring your meal out to you in their “no contact” Park & Eat Service.

There are currently 7 park and eat spots in the parking lot. “The Park and Eat service is available 7 days a week, weather permitting.” And you might even get your food delivered via skateboard!!

Westville Pub

Craving hanging out? The Westville Pub, ‘Where Everyone Knows Your Name?’ is also reopening under the new guidelines, and working hard to keep their patrons safe.

They are using dividers and keeping dining parties the required 6′ apart. You can learn more on their Facebook page.

They’re starting with some limited food items but will be ramping up their menu over this first week. They are also now back to regular hours – aaaah!

Food Trucks!

The Deli LlaMMMa, serving up “locally sourced Gramamma style cuisine, with a delicious raunchy flare” can be found weekends at the Haywood Country Club.

On the menu you’ll find a variety of specialties from a Ko-rito Burrito (Korean style steak or tofu), to Holy Ravioli with cheese and spinach, to a Big Greek Chalupa with zaatar-spiced lamb.

Also serving Mexican dishes!

In addition to weekends, you can also order from El Kimchi, “serving mouth-watering Korean BBQ Tacos and more” on Mondays and Fridays at The Brew Pump. On their menu you can find your favorite Kimchi and more specialties like Bibimbap & Goon Mandu (Dumplings).

Saturdays you’ll often find them at Sam’s Club…

Be sure to check all truck Facebook pages for their latest hours and stops!

Craving pizza? Grata Pizzeria is preparing their taproom to open for dine-in services next week and Pizza Mind is working to open for dining on June 3rd.
