West Asheville is Home

We’re heartbroken over the impact of COVID-19 is having on our community and share your concerns for the health of our most vulnerable neighbors, those who care for them, and those who work in essential services. West Asheville is home and you are our family. We love you all.

We’re proud of you!

Hard as it is, closing doors and maintaining social distance is working to slow the spread of COVID-19 in our community. We’re impressed by the respect, care and innovation we’ve seen around West Asheville to adhere to these lifesaving steps. Keep it up, together we’ll come through this.

What is the new normal?

Our small businesses and staff who define our community face challenges nobody could ever have imagined. In normal times, we’d be asking you to pay them a visit, to spend extra time enjoying what they offer, to overfill your shopping cart, to tip generously. These are not the normal times of the past. We are all now challenged to define a new normal. What does that look like and how do we keep our community of small businesses alive? What can each of us do to help?

Business Directory

To address these needs, we’ve put together a directory of West Asheville places that are still open for business–whether it’s for walk-ups, drive-ups, or delivery. The directory also identifies which businesses are taking online orders for goods, offering online gift card purchasing for future use, or collecting funds to support out-of-work staff. Please use this guide to spend with local businesses as you are able.

COVID-19 Info and Resources

We know it can be hard to find where to turn for assistance, where to find clear and accurate information regarding COVID-19, and clear direction on how to help others in our community. It can be overwhelming and scary. We’ve done a lot of sorting and sourcing for you. Use the navigation tabs to find resources and visit our News & Articles page for tips and ways to help you have a bit less stress in your day.

Please check back as we will be updating our content continually (sign up for our e-news to stay informed), adding in articles that help to clarify and put news items in context, and provide updates to the resources listed.

Know of something we missed? Links to simple forms are on each page where you can share info with us. Thanks for helping!

We love you West Asheville and thank you for supporting each other in this time of need. Together, we’ll get through this crisis.
