Parks and Play Areas
West Asheville has a variety of public parks offering space for activities for the entire family from swimming to biking, walking, picnics, tennis, volleyball and more. Some parks are small and others large – explore them all and find your favorite!
Amboy Road River Park
Features: paved trail and fishing pier.
Carrier Park
Features: volleyball courts, giant playground structure, basketball court, rollerhockey rink, multi-use track for bicyclists and pedestrians, lawn bowling courts, baseball diamond, covered picnic area with tables and grills, paved and dirt trails with educational displays on river and wetland ecology, boat landing.
French Broad River Park
Features: green spaces, wildflower garden, paved half-mile walking path, large gazebo, picnic tables and grills, fishing/observation deck, small playground, and a fenced area for exercising dogs, know as the “Dog Park.”
Hominy Creek Park & Greenway
Features: grills, picnic tables and river access. Greenway connects Hominy Creek Park with Carrier Park via a paved two mile riverside path.
Malvern Hills Park
Features: outdoor pool, tennis courts, small playground, and sheltered picnic
area with grills.
West Asheville Park
Features: baseball field, batting cage, tennis courts, small playground, and
picnic space complete with shelters and grills.
