Public Transportation (Bus Service)
Asheville Transit offers bus service for West Asheville via Haywood Road with routes W1 – W2 and Patton Avenue with routes W3 – W4 – W5. A pdf overview of the routes is available on the City website.

Booklets at reduced rates are available at the ART Station, 49 Coxe Avenue in downtown Asheville as are monthly and yearly passes.

Parks & Play Areas
Amboy Road River Park
Features: paved trail and fishing pier.
Features: volleyball courts, giant playground structure, basketball court, roller-hockey rink, multi-use track for bicyclists and pedestrians, lawn bowling courts, baseball diamond, multi-use fields, covered picnic area with tables and grills, paved and dirt trails, wetland ecology educational displays, river overlooks, boat landing.
French Broad River Greenway connects Hominy Creek Park with Carrier Park via a paved path next to the French Broad River.
French Broad River Park
Features: green spaces with old trees, wildflower garden, paved half-mile walking path, large gazebo, picnic tables and grills, fishing/observation deck and small playground.
- Dog Park: Located at one end of the French Broad River Park, the Dog Park features a large fenced-in area for exercising and socializing dogs.
Jean Webb Park
Features: river access, small open field and picnic area.
Hominy Creek Greenway runs along the northern side of Hominy Creek. More info on this greenway is available at Friends of Hominy Creek Greenway website.
Hominy Creek Park
Features: grills, picnic tables and river access.
Malvern Hills Park & Pool
Features: outdoor pool with pavilion, bathhouse, restrooms, concession area, lighted tennis courts, playground, walking trail, and sheltered picnic area with grills.
Richmond Hill Park
Features: over 180-acres of natural wooded terrain, views of the French Broad River, disc golf course and a series of unpaved trails.
West Asheville Park
Features: Little League baseball field, concessions, restrooms, batting cage, playground, and
picnic space complete with shelters and grills.
West Asheville Center Playground
Located behind the West Asheville Center this small park features a playground with accessible swing, and a basketball court.
